Classes are held in Cambridge on Thursday evenings beginning at 7:30pm and wrapping up at approximately 9:30pm.
We begin our dancing "season" early in September and continue through to the last Thursday of April. New dancers are welcome anytime! (however, for full transparency, there are a few weeks in March where the class typically prepares for our upcoming local dance or ball that may make beginning in the month of March a challenge for a newer dancer. For these three weeks the class is generally focussed on learning numberous dances off of the upcoming program, and a newer dancer may find it challenging to learn the initial basics at this time.)
Feel free to come out and join in - you are very welcome!
The Blair Scottish Country Dancers are an open dance group that allows you to participate as you like; however, it is always beneficial to come regularly to build your knowledge of Scottish Country Dancing. As the group soley exists to promote Scottish Country Dancing and enable a great social evening, fees for the group are used to offset the costs of having the classes - for items such as hall rental, etc. and the group operates on a not-for-profit basis.
There is no fee for your first evening visit to dance with us - we want you to see what a great group of people we are!
There are a few benefits to becoming a regular member of the group. Aside from the significant reduction in overall costs for attending all classes, these include a personalized Blair Scottish Country Dancers name tag and the ability to attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting held each year in April. There are very few things as enjoyable for so little cost!
